Mikayla and Erica

Mikayla invited her next door neighbor, Erica to spend some time with her at grandma's. We did all sorts of fun things. We made bracelets and rings out of pop beads, visited McDonalds for lunch and played in the tunnels. We caught bugs for the bug barn and gave them food and water.
Then there was inside time to take care of shopping and making sure the babies had food from the grocery store.  Erica is so good with Mikayla and kept her busy most of the day.

Fun TIme

This is actually a skirt but since Mikayla had recently been to see the Indians in full dress she thought it would look like their headdress.
Austin just got his head shaved and new shoes so he did a pose for me.  Quite a handsome little man.

Finally, there was wrestling with papa.  The best end to a visit to papa and grandma's house.

Father's Day

Weston and Jack dropped by on Sunday to give papa a handprint fishing shirt they had made.   You can see a little of it between them.  Pretty COOL!  Thanks guys!
Jack had to dig in the dirt pile.
Weston is not to be left out.

Boys Like to Play in Dirt

Friday night Aaron and the boys joined us for hot dogs and hamburgers. We still have a dirt pile from the patio construction and the boys were quick to grab their diggers and go to work. Diggers and dirt -- that is what life is all about for a little boy!

Friday Night Lights

Aaron and Danielle ran in the 5K sponsored by Legacy Park on Friday night. I got the opportunity to spend some grandson time with the boys. We had to check out the construction that is in the area next to them. The big diggers are quite a site close up. When Jack would get close to one of the holes they dug for the sewers Weston would be sure to tell him to "GET BACK JACKSON!" It was quite amazing how he looked out for him.

Mikayla is very proud of her necklace.

Friday Night Downtown Days

Adam and Michelle went to Jason Brown's wedding on Friday night so Austin, Mikayla and I headed out for the fun at Lee's Summit's Downtown Days. After walking the streets to try to find Uncle Aaron and his Bar-B-Que site (we never found him) we decided to explore the fun and excitement.  We found several things that the kids were interested in.  The firehouse had a Freddy the Fireman truck that they really liked but none of those pictures came out.

Mikayla is a Princess superhero and Austin is Batman!

The fireman let Austin sit in the firetruck...

Mikayla even took a turn.
Of course, when we got back home they had to tell  papa about their adventures.
Mikayla needed a pair of special flip-flops...
And Austin needed a bow and arrow.
