Mom & Dad are on Vacation

Mom & dad took a well deserved vacation/get away
in Arkansas and grandma got to spend some time with
the boys.  We had supper, played some, then it was
bath/bedtime.

The littles always manage to have a good time!

The bigs are ready for bed.
Love this little man.  He is such a joy to be around.

Slime

SLIME, SLIME, we have made so many
different types of slime this summer.

This one actually turned out.  Some were better than others.
Shaving cream and contact solution seemed to be our best bet.

Science City With Beckett

Welcome to Science City.  The bus ride was not what we
expected.  The bus was equipped with harness seatbelts so
all children were harnessed in and had to sit without their
parent or adult friends.  (Good for safety but not for
quality time with the kiddo)

So, here we go ready to start our adventure.

Climbing in the wooden obstacle...

Checking out the color changing floor...
Good stop indeed.  Dinosaurs!!!!!

Motion thing...

Wobble, wobble chair...

A favorite, the claw MACHINE!!!

The outdoor attractions were really fun...

Beckett tried his skills at this potato chip climber...

And made it to the top!!!
Wish we had more time to explore but had a

Trip to the Lake

Time for a catnap on a trip to the lake.

Grandma took Austin and Mikayla to the beach to
swim.  It was the only time this trip they got near the water.
The next day, Saturday, it rained, rained and rained.

Flubber

Kayla is always looking for ideas to make something.

This time it was FLUBBER!

SUCCESS!  It's pretty cool to play with but
it dries your hands out because of the Borax.
Mark that one off the list.

4th of July Fireworks in the Cul-de-sac

The day had finally arrived.  It was OFFICIALLY
time to shoot fireworks.  Kelly, Steve and Ben, along with
Richard and his family gathered in the Cul-de-sac
and took turns lighting their fireworks.  Kayla
is working on one here...

Austin has one going also.  Even though it drizzled
most of the night, we had a great time and saw an
amazing tribute to our "American Freedom".

Artist at Work

One of Kayla's favorite things to do is crafts.
She found this on Pinterest and wanted to give it whirl.

Busy making paint decisions...

Hard at work with her creation.
I failed to capture the finished product but
it is on display at grandma's house.

4th of July Weekend at the Lake

On Friday night we took a stroll to the lake to
see if the water was down from the last visit...

The waterline was back to normal.  Austin and Kayla
decided to wade in.

This was the first time we had the boat out this year.
Kayla and papa are doing a little fishing...

Austin is working it too.

Later in the evening they brought out some
fireworks...

Lots of bang, bang and they were happy.

Waiting for the fireworks to begin...

Austin and papa have their spot picked out.

It was a GREAT display.
HAPPY 4TH everyone!
