Spending Time at Grandma & Papa's

Austin & Kayla wanted to do a science project

when they visited today.  They said they remember

when they used to come we would do experiments and

it sounded like fun.  First we made a volcano with

a water bottle.  Next we added a balloon with baking soda

to the top of the bottle with vinegar.  The

balloon inflated, now that was really cool!

Then we made oobleck.  2 parts of cornstarch with

1 part water, stir and what fun.

You would be amazed at the interesting

things you can do with oobleck.

Oobleck is a suspension of cornstarch and water that can behave like a solid or a liquid depending on how much pressure you apply. Try to grab some in your hand, and it will form a solid ball in your palm until you release the pressure. Then, it will flow out between your fingers

We played games and made a visit to
Walmart but it seemed the oobleck was one
of the interesting things of the day.
